The Santa Run consists of a 5K and 1-mile run/walk event on the state capitol grounds. The Santa Run is a 501c3 charity whose mission is to raise awareness of addiction issues and to raise money for entities that support addiction recovery, including the RADD (Runners Against Destructive Decisions) running group. Pre and post race activities are held in the Heritage Center. The run starts on the street East of the Heritage Center and proceeds to loop the capitol mall and continue on the running trails, roads, and sidewalks around the capitol grounds.
